Editorial Note on This Chronicle

This chronicle was compiled in order to improve the school's archival materials, make reporting and summarizing educational work easier, and provide a factual basis for writing educational history. It is meant only as a beginning.

From 1943 to 1982, because of the long passage of time, no single specialized record of major events had survived in complete form. Much of the early material was reconstructed from original archives still held by the school, along with recollections gathered from alumni during the fiftieth anniversary celebrations, so it cannot be considered fully complete. From August 1982 onward, the principal's office and personnel secretary began recording major events more systematically, and from 1992 the chronicle followed newly issued standards for selection and scope, so the most recent fifteen years are comparatively complete and accurate.

Compiling school history requires patience, responsibility, and support from every office of the school. We believe that, driven by a shared sense of responsibility and mission, if each generation continues to record the school's path of development, this chronicle of Jingde Middle School will eventually become an important work in the history of education in Jingde.
